Kupenda provides mother and baby homes, that are focussed, on providing holistic and safe environments, for a child and mother to be together. Our ethos, are based on supporting mothers who need assistance, in a safe respectful environment, by helping them to develop better parenting skills, and also assisting them in developing lifeskills, that will help them; • Improve parenting skills • Learn baby care • Have better relationships, • Improve self image • Recieve emotional support • Recieve career advice • manage a home Our focus is on doing everything, we can to ensure that mother and baby’s best interests are met. • Kupenda provides supported residential accommodation where children can live with their families whilst parenting skills are developed and assessed. • The management team and an assigned key worker will work closely with mother and baby, to help them get settled in, and become familiar with all staff and other residents staying with us. • Kupenda mother and baby units, are homes that offer a place of safety and security, and our ultimate commitment is always the happiness and wellbeing of the children, and mothers placed with us. • Our keyorkers, and management staff, are dedicated professionals, and are committed to providing residents who are placed with us, with excellent assessments, and full scale support during the time that residents, stay with us and to make them feel as happy, confident and comfortable as possible. • Kupenda Social care, operates two homes for mothers & babies, which are located in London, & Surrey. As our focus is on residents safety, we do not give out our homes addresses on the site. • Our homes are based in residential areas, that are located very near to shops, restaurants and cafes, public transport, parks, GP surgeries, chemists, library, and parent and child groups. • Kupenda provide’s each family, with their own fully furnished bedroom. We focus on ensuring that mothers &children, who are resident with us, feel a sense of personal ownership of their space, so we encourage that the rooms are personalised by mothers. • The accommodation we provide, at Kupenda social care, is suitable for single parent families or a larger family,and is committed to ensuring that we provide a holistic and nurturing environment. • The larger homes we provide, are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by professionsal, and experienced keyworkers, who, have been subject to enhanced criminal records checks, and are subject to very intense selection processes, before they are employed with us. Residents at our homes, share the living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms, alongside other families that are residents, in the placement. The reason for this, is to ensure that living in a shared space, with other families help in developing parenting skills, and make residents feel less isolated, especially if they are not from the South of England. We do ensure, that residents have the choice at all times, and personal space and privacy is made paramount. Kupenda ensures that all residents: • Always feel safe & Respected • Behave in a manner that is respectful and safe for themselves and their children. • Respect each other. • Are able to speak to staff or management at any time. • Are provided with support & advice at anytime they require. • Are free to be honest, about the support they require. • Keep all living areas clean, and safe for themselves and others.
